We are pleased to bring this new and exciting opportunity to the Sydney market. Joining a successful Australian Government Agency, you will be initially leading the preparatory activities which will contribute to the implementation of the proposed Cyclone Reinsurance Pool, and to support the development, analysis and documentation of the Claims and Audit workstream. This truly is one of the most exciting roles this year as you represent ARPC with senior insurance representatives across the country, reporting to the Chief Claims and Customer Officer and supporting the Senior Executive Team.
ARPC is a public financial corporation established by the Terrorism Insurance Act 2003 to administer the terrorism reinsurance scheme, providing primary insurers with reinsurance for commercial property and associated business interruption losses arising from a declared terrorist incident. Additionally, ARPC is preparing to deliver the proposed Cyclone Reinsurance Pool.
The initial scope of the role is to develop foundational procedures to support the establishment of the agency's Claims function. The Senior Manager Claims Assessment and Audit will then primarily be responsible for managing an efficient and compliant Claims Assessment and Audit function (including the claims review and audit program) in accordance with ARPC's policy terms and conditions and industry standards.
We are seeking an experienced professional with spark and initiative to contribute toward building this function from the ground-up, and then leading the claims assessment and audit programs of work for both the Terrorism and Cyclone portfolios.
We are seeking an individual with experience in a senior insurance claims role, who is able to lead a small team toward the attainment of high performance and delivery. You will be strategic in your thinking but also decisive and precise in your execution. Your ability to analyse insights from a vast array of complex data will empower you to effectively negotiate and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
Ideally you will be tertiary qualified (in any discipline) and may be a Fellow or Senior Associate of the ANZIIF. Preferably your background will consist of considerable experience in claims management in the insurance/reinsurance sector.
You must be an Australian citizen to be able to acquire an Australian Government Security Clearance to the appropriate level for the position. This will be arranged for you, if successful.
