On behalf of my clients I am working on an urgent requirement assisting them in engaging an experienced Procurement and Contracts Specialist for a large project in Defence.
The role will be based from clients site in Canberra and is initially being offered as a 5 month day rate contract however view of extension way beyond this is highly likely.
As the Procurement and Contracts Specialist some of your main duties will include:
- Procurement support and act as the main point of contact for all Strategic procurement activity.
- Review proposals, negotiate prices, select/recommend suppliers, analyse trends, follow up orders placed, verify delivery, approve payment and maintain necessary records.
- Prepare requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages; including sign supplier agreements and PO and considering cross collaboration agreements that can be used centrally.
- Negotiate on behalf of the Company within approved authority.
Essential skills / experience required:
- Proven experience in a similar roles gained within the Defence sector
- Understanding of Defence Capability Lifecycle
- Extensive experience in negotiating Terms and Conditions and professional experience with procurement systems.
- Appreciation of Technology.
- Understanding and application of procurement principles, concepts, practices and standards and international procurement experience in purchasing goods and services plus, dealing with International Terms and Conditions.
- You must be an Australian citizen and hold current NV1 Security Clearance as a minimum.
