On behalf of my clients I am currently looking for an experienced Master Scheduler with current NV1 or above clearances to work on a large program of work in the Defence sector.
The role is being offered as an initial 9 month day rate contract (which is highly likely to be extended) and will be based from my clients offices in Canberra.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Identifying the root cause of project overruns to develop and drive an action plan to minimise/eliminate the re-occurrence of identified causes.
- Timely reporting of all project schedules including governance reporting for project control boards, program steering groups and for portfolio management.
- Understanding of the operational process that will provide delivery to the customer in a timely fashion.
- Ability to support and drive change
- Collaborate with Program Managers and Project Managers to continually monitor and update relevant schedules to ensure they are maintained, agreed milestones are met and resources are utilised effectively.
- Ensure the Master Schedule for each program / project is maintained.
- Prepare standardised project status reports, and assists in validating and tracking project delivery activities.
To be considered for this role my clients are looking for somebody with the following skills / experience:
- NV1 Clearance or above
- Minimum 5 years in Project planning, scheduling or reporting roles
- Prior experience in Defence
- Strong experience gained in the project management space and demonstrable evidence managing complex projects
- Proficient in Enterprise Project Scheduling Tools and Applications - MS Project preferred
- Experience in using PowerBI to generate insights and analysis (desirable)
- Analytical skills, attention to detail/accuracy and problem-solving skills Demonstrated experience in a Professional Services environment
- Experience managing difficult stakeholders of various seniority
- Experience using MS project for Scheduling
- Tertiary qualified (degree) mandatory
- Project Management Professional (PMP certified) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent (e.g. Prince II) would be desirable.
