About the role
The Health Safety Environment & Quality Director is an integral part of the Senior Leadership team accountable for a region wide function. This role is responsible for all deliverables of the HSEQ function across company operations within the APAC (Asia Pacific) Business Unit. This role has the primary purpose of developing, implementing and overseeing a formal approach to the assessment and control of risk.
As the HSEQ Director you will hold rresponsible for the direction of HSEQ within the Region in accordance with the Company Vision and the Strategic Business Plan. You will direct the continuous improvement of the HSEQ Department whilst providing strategic leadership to the Department members; playing a pivotal role with individuals within your function to grow their capability through coaching, mentoring and personal development planning and discussions.
This role will direct the evolution and application of the Safety Management System and its suite of associated documents, and at the same time you will act as the interface with Clients and Regulators as required.
With the newly created APAC Head Office now in Perth, the HSEQ Director will ensure that the HSEQ manuals and processes are kept compliant to the applicable legislation.
As safety is our number one priority, you will also be the Independent Safety Manager for the region and be required to report any hazards or occurrences, stop any unsafe work, participate in safety activities and meetings, and be diligent in following all established HSEQ policies and procedures.
You will already be an experienced and accomplished HSEQ leader in a senior management role, looking for that next step up. You will have a detailed knowledge of the Aviation Regulations for New Zealand, Australia, and APAC region, along with comprehensive knowledge of the Safety Management System requirements for aviation. It would also be advantageous for you to have an overview and understanding of the workplace health and safety legislation for the countries in which the Company has activities in the APAC region.
